This blog will entail the results of The Lady Haig Pool team.
The team was set up in 2000 and were initialy called S.A.D.S.A.D - based from the Slough and District Sports and Disabled centre. The team was made up of Steve Townsend, Stuart Townsend, Jim Townsend, Jonny Cooper, Ben Kiely and Peter Sheil.
The team registered in the newly formed World Rules and were placed in Division 2 of the Slough Renegade Pool League. Although the rules were completely new to all players, a successful season followed under the captaincy of Stuart Townsend with 14 victories from 18 matches and winning the league by 11 points.
In the 2001/02 season the team was promoted to Division 1 to mix it up with the big boys of Slough's pool scene. A decent season saw them finish in 4th place.
The team then moved to Farnham Park Golf Club for the 2002/03 season and there was changes in the personel. The well known John "JT" Townsend came to ply his trade with the rest of his family. Ben Kiely and Peter Sheil both transferred to the Irish Club. Again a 4th place in Division 1 help cement Farnham Park's place as a top division side.
The side stayed at Farnham Park for the following season and this was their best so far as a side. A 3rd place finish in the league and winning the coveted Champions of Champions Cup in the summer. Defeating the Irish Club in the final on last game decider. Stuart Townsend beating Steve Payne to ensure victory.
